Autumn in Lyon

During the 2025 spring semester, I am studying abroad in Lyon, France through University Studies Abroad Consortium (USAC). Lyon is located in southeastern France, about 290 miles from Paris and 90 miles from Geneva, Switzerland. If you're interested in reading more about Lyon, click here. Through USAC, I will tour various cities and regions of France, including the Strasbourg and Alsace region, the French Alps, Beaujolais, and Avignon. I'm taking three French language courses, a French literature course, a travel writing course, and a cooking class. I'm staying with a host family. ​My host mom is Bénédicte, a mother of four adult children who teaches at a middle school. She's been hosting international students since 2014. Also in the household is Patricia, a USAC alumna who has returned to Lyon to pursue a masters in marketing. The homestay is located in the 5th arrondisement of Lyon, about 20 minutes via public transportation from my classes. Throughout my program, I'll post updates and photos of my experiences on this blog.
